What started as a hobby has now turned to purpose as Moleboheng began by styling hair for family and friends. During this time, she conducted research to fully transition into the hair salon business and it grew a loyal clientele who referred the business to others. The Business Advisor performed a diagnostic analysis using the Business Model Canvas to determine the business shortcomings and possible remedial interventions to support business growth. The assessment report revealed the following challenges that needed urgent attention:
• The business has been in operation since 2024, with a lack of marketing initiatives and no visibility thus limiting its ability to attract new customers.
• The business needed assistance to increase the visibility of the business
• The business had a low turnover and was struggling to break through into the market.

Through SEDFA’s business support, the owner has realized the following benefits:
• The signage has improved visibility of the premises, therefore increasing sales, market share and profit margins.
• The turnover of the business increased by approximately 100% from R0.00 in the 2024/25 financial year to R38 400 in the 2025/26 financial year.
• Employment has grown by 100% from one (2024/25) to two (2025/2026) staff members.
