Intervention Insights and Results

Intervention Details: Dimpho Mapilo, owner of D’kota Food Court, was introduced to a SEDFA Business Advisor who facilitated the Small Business Assessment Tool (SBAT) to support the growth and sustainability of his kota and fast-food business. The SBAT provided valuable insights into the business’s strengths, including its strong customer appeal and unique value offering, as well as key areas requiring improvement such as branding, marketing visibility, and operational efficiency. This assessment has laid a solid foundation for informed decision-making, strategic planning, and targeted business development.

The following intervention was implemented:
• Design, development and printing of a signage, gazebo and banners (pull-up and shark fin).
Outcome Details: The following results were achieved:
• Turnover increased from R 243 000 to R 298 970, an increase of 23.03%;
• Net profit increased from R 81 720 to R 143 780, an increase of 75,94%, and
• Employment increased from 1 to 6, an increase of 5.
