Lekkershop sells a variety of baked brownies items to the Lephalale community. Under the leadership of an entrepreneurial person, the company has experienced significant growth as it has drawn more customers and continually expand its product and service offerings. Lekkershop has seen significant demand for these brownies’ products.

Amongst other things, the following challenges were discovered during discussions and whilst the business advisor was conducting comprehensive business assessment:
• Limited stock to cater for the market demand, this was due to lack of modern equipment, hence low production and dwindling profit margins.
• Lack of branding and international market exposure
• Limited online presence, due to lack of any form of social media presence

Intervention Details:
• The client was assisted with a branding project including packaging materials.
• The client was also assisted to attend a trade exhibition in Pretoria (SARCDA) that was organized by Sedfa.
• Facilitation of access to finance project was done by the access point SP on behalf of the client, through the Sedfa Asset Assist Programme.

Outcome Details:
• Over the last year, the company’s turnover has increased from R67,962.00 to R227,362.00, indicating a growth rate of 234.54%.
• The business also added another job, increasing the total number of jobs from 2 to 3.
