Business Dynamics and Challenges
Business Activities:
Amamaya 's Eatery and General Works was registered as a privite company in October 2019 by its sole owner, Ms. Nowetse Thembi Tshaka. The business began informally in 2018, when Ms. Tshaka started baking fat cakes and selling them at the Kayamandi taxi rank.
As demand for cooked food grew, and with support from her family, she was able to purchase a container, stove, fridge, and a table with chairs, which allowed her to set up a small restaurant. The eatery specialises in traditional African meals and is mainly supported by taxi drivers and factory workers in the area.
