Denic Cabinets was established in 2017, born out of Mrs. Phakathi’s love for interior design and a vision to offer high-quality, customised cabinetry solutions. Since its inception, the business has:  Grown from a small team to a trained workforce of artisans with over 65 years of combined experience.  Secured funding from the NEF Furniture Fund in 2024 to acquire industrial equipment.  Increased its production capacity from four to seven kitchen units per month.  Participated in media platforms such as eTV’s The Morning Show and built a strong digital presence.  Earned Level 1 B-BBEE status and attracted a broad customer base through consistent service delivery. Denic Cabinets provides bespoke furniture manufacturing services, specialising in kitchens, built-in cupboards, bathroom vanities, home and office storage, and entertainment units. They offer full-service cabinetry solutions, including design (3D renders), site visits, custom builds, manufacturing, and installation.
Challenges/Needs: A Critical Planning Exercise (CPE) Assessment was conducted on the business, and the following key challenges that hinder the growth of the business were identified:  limited market penetration due to incapacity due to a lack of specialised machinery  Limited financial resources for scalability as the company lacks specialised apparatus

A Critical Planning Exercise (CPE) Assessment was conducted, and the following recommendations and interventions were agreed upon with the client:
1. Facilitate access to funding to assist the client in acquiring the specialised manufacturing machinery
2. Facilitate the grant funding procurement process.
Outcome Details: Sedfa interventions have highly assisted the business in the following manner:
 A funding application was sent to Sedfa’s asset assist programme, and the client was approved for a grant fund of R209 021.13
 They succeeded in acquiring the necessary specialized equipment, which puts them in a strong position as a manufacturer of custom furniture and cabinets.
 As a result, the business was able to grow its revenue by %, resulting in the company increasing its employees by an additional employee.
