Access to Market.
For the business to continue to be sustainable, largely depends
on its ability to continue successfully source new contracts
within its sector of operation (mining). And for this to be
possible, depends on the business ability to strategically
position itself well within the mining sector and its ability to
successfully link its service offering directly to the business
target market.
At the time when the business was assessed, the business had
no marketing plan to help improve its market presence within
the mining sector.
Upon the assessment of the business using Seda internal
assessment tools, the following business challenges were then
identified:
• Access to Market, Marketing & Promotional Materials – Business
had no marketing and promotional plan to help business improve
its market presence within its target market and therefore
effectively link its service offerings to potential target clients.

How has Seda’s Intervention benefited the client?
• Following the SEDA’s intervention support with marketing and
promotional materials (access to market), the business turnover
increased from R1 290 953,00 (as at the previous Improvement
Assessment date) to R2 657 692,00 (as at the current
Improvement Assessment date).
• The business has since improved its market presence and
recently successfully sourced the following three contracts:
o Seriti Power (Pty) Ltd – Middelburg Mine: Supply of
Transportation of Potable Water (3-year contract starting from
1 June 2024 – 31 May 2027)
o Sefateng Chrome Mine (Pty) Ltd: Supply of Occupational
Hygiene Services (3-year contract starting from 01 April 2024
to 31 March 2027)
o African Exploration Mining & Finance Corporation Soc. Ltd –
The Vlakfontein Mine (Ogies): Supply of Occupational
Hygiene Services (3-year contract starting from 1 November
2023 to 31 October 2026)
• Through SEDA’s intervention support, the business asset base
also increased following the acquisition of Water Bowser Truck
for the amount of R1 541 402,50 on the 18th of July 2023.
Employment increased from 03 to 07.
• SEDA to further assist the business acquire a Hazardous Waste
Removal certificate for the purpose of helping the business
expand its service offerings.
• Following the SEDA’s intervention support with marketing and
promotional materials (access to market), the business turnover
increased from R1 290 953,00 (as at the previous Improvement
