When the owner of the business visited Sedfa branch for the first time, she needed assistance in accessing finance. She wanted to develop a nursery structure required for the growth of the business. The owner did not have sufficient funds to develop the structure that was in her plans.
Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
The Business Advisor conducted a farm visit to assess the needs of the business using Sedfa tools. The Business Advisor recommended that the client be assisted with facilitation of access to finance. An application for the Asset Assist Program was prepared. relevant documents were compiled as per the checklist. Sedfa assisted the business by facilitating access to finance process, which included the development of an access to finance business plan and application for the Asset Assist Program.
Outcome Details:
Through Sedfa assistance, the business secured a grant to the value of R250 000.00. The grant was utilized for the development of two nursery structures and the purchase of trays and fertilizers. The owner of the business hired additional five people who are working in the business. Wisani Agri Solutions hired seven more employees, bringing the total number of employees to seven. The turnover of the business in the first six months after securing a grant increased from an average of R25 000.00 to an average of R59 430.00 per month.
