At the beginning, the business experienced challenges with lack of access to markets for growth. This was because the business did not have ISO9001 quality standard and most of the prospective corporate clients needed the supplier with ISO 9001 standard to do business with them. The business also needed funding for expansion to purchase new machinery and equipment, as well as working capital to cater for overheads
Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
The owner approached SEDFA Mangaung branch BDS support. An assessment was conducted, and an action plan developed. Sedfa assisted the client with facilitation of access to markets by referring them to participate at the Bloemshow annual exhibition. The clients was assisted with ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Outcome Details:
The intervention assisted the client to access new markets which enabled them to acquire contracts with the following corporates:

• Group 4 Security Services
• Correctional Services
Business monthly turnover improved from R1,300,000 p/m to R10,000,000 p/m on average. The employment increased from 15 to 20 staff members.
