The business applied for the Asset Assist Grant Funding and was awarded R249 886.02. Through this support, the company received assistance with a solar system and acquiring a large ice-making machine. This allowed business to convert its water purification plant and ice production to solar power, which significantly lowered electricity costs and increased production

Outcome Details:
Before the intervention, the company supplied ice to 18 outlets and purified water to 4 villages, with limited walk-in customers. After the intervention, the business now supplies over 30 outlets with ice, serves 3 additional villages with purified water, offers house deliveries, and experiences increased walk-in customers. As a result, turnover increased from approximately R35,000 to R145,000 within six months, and employment grew from one (1) employee to three (3) employees.
