Intervention Details: The director attended Basic Business Skills training, after which SEDFA engaged her in business advisory sessions to identify a viable business opportunity. SEDFA assisted the client to apply for W&R SETA funding, through which she received R6 000.00 stock to start a tuckshop. Further support included assistance in obtaining a municipal trading permit, a Certificate of Acceptance from the district, and applying for the Spaza Shop Support Fund. Ms. Sechogela was also supported to submit an RFQ for a tender.
Outcome Details: As a result of the interventions, Bathobotlhe & Masego Trading successfully opened a tuckshop and is currently expanding its premises to accommodate more stock. The business now generates an average monthly turnover of R5 000.00 and has
created one (1) employment opportunity. In addition, the business secured a SIOC tender valued at R192 000.00 significantly improving its sustainability and positioning it for future growth.
