Intervention Details: SEDFA implements its non-financial support intervention in the form of local markets access intervention to Bochum Curtains. The intervention was implemented using Service Provider, Motshele Printing and Services. Its primary aim is to promote visibility for the SMME using traditional marketing tools.

The local market intervention support SME growth and sustainability. The intervention was implemented because of the diagnostic assessment conducted at Bochum Curtains. The following marketing tools were designed for the company:

The programme was implemented as a group intervention of four SMMEs within Blouberg Local Municipality and was completed within 4 months. The intervention assisted the businesses to optimize profitability and enhance competitiveness. Overall, the program demonstrated significant progress in helping businesses access new markets to ensure sustained growth resulting in an increase in production capacity, an increase in revenue and jobs sustainability.
Outcome Details: Bochum Curtains experienced extraordinary growth, increasing its turnover from R288 000 to R393 030, reflecting a growth rate of 36%. This substantial growth of the revenue can be attributed to the business’s audience or visibility having been improved due to SEDFA local market access intervention. With the increase in turnover, the company purchased a new Industrial Overlocker Machine at R. The company was able to sustain 4 jobs.
