Through the Wholesale and Retail SETA programme facilitated by Sedfa, Mr. Matsoele received training in financial management and inventory control. This knowledge improved record-keeping, pricing, and planning. In addition, the company was supported with stock to the value of R6,000, giving it a stronger foundation to meet customer demand.
Outcome Details:
The intervention brought measurable improvements:
• Turnover grew from R15,500 to R28,800, an increase of 46%.
• Profit rose from R2,260 to R3,660, an improvement of 38%.
• Employment expanded from 1 employee to 2 employees, reflecting a 100% increase in staff capacity.
These results show that with the right support, even small township businesses can scale and become sustainable contributors to local economic development.
