Business Dynamics and Challenges

Business Activities: It caters to both business and leisure travellers, featuring individually decorated en-suite rooms, air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and select DStv channels. The guest lodge comprises 18 bedrooms which can accommodate 2 guests in each. The rooms are furnished with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The rooms also feature a couch, bar fridge, coffee- and tea-making facilities, a work desk and access to Wi-Fi. Guests are afforded secure parking on the premises
Challenges/Needs: Repa Boutique Hotel was not spared from operational challenges. Like many other entities, the enterprise experienced shortcomings in areas such as: o Mentoring and Coaching The owner and employees of Repa Boutique Hotel required continuous mentoring and coaching to build capacity for sustained business growth. Ongoing support in this area would strengthen their ability to address operational challenges and improve overall service delivery. o Operational Productivity Challenges Repa Boutique Hotel faced several productivity issues that negatively impacted growth and efficiency. The business struggled with maintaining smooth operations while simultaneously meeting the high expectations of guests who demanded premium service and amenities. o Marketing and Systems Support The hotel required marketing assistance, particularly in securing signage for visibility and advertising. In addition, the development of an E-Commerce website was critical to expanding market reach. To optimize efficiency, the website needed to be integrated with a Guest House Management Software. Currently, the business operated without such a system, which exposed it to risks such as room booking theft by employees and poor reservation management.
