Intervention Insights and Results

Intervention Details: SEDFA helped Khaola's General Trading and Projects from start to finish with a plan called End-to-End Enterprise Development Funding Facilitation with Capacity Building.
First, they met with the owner and used a special assessment (called an SBAT) to understand the business. They found out that the biggest problem was a lack of money to buy stock.
To solve this, SEDFA helped the business apply for a R6,500 grant from the W&RSeta. To get the money, the owner had to complete a training course on how to manage inventory. SEDFA’s Business Advisor helped with everything:
Preparing the application: Gathering all the needed papers and signing the owner up for the required training.
Submitting everything: Sending the application and training proof to W&RSeta.
arranging a site visit: Coordinating a visit from the funder after the application was approved
Outcome Details: SEDFA's intervention provided key benefits that directly support its mission, as shown by clear and significant improvements in the business's performance.
The most direct benefit was a major increase in sales (turnover). With the R6,500 grant for stock and the new inventory management skills, the business was able to vastly expand its product offerings and sales capacity. Its monthly turnover dramatically increased from R12,000 to R30,000 a 150% rise. This outstanding growth achieves SEDFA's core goal of facilitating substantial business growth and increasing revenue.
Furthermore, this rapid expansion led to a direct increase in employment. To manage the much higher sales volume and expanded operations, the business moved from having only the owner as an employee to hiring three additional people
