Mum to Be specializes in antenatal health care, massage therapy and primary health. The company provides all these services to primarily pregnant women and the community at large. In recent years the owner has included events management service and a Bread n Breakfast to compliment business revenue.
Challenges/Needs:
As part of expanding the services of the business, Mum To Be has introduced events management as a secondary service. The company needed equipment including tents, chairs, mobile freezer and mobile toilets. The immediate challenge was to source funding for the expansion project.

Intervention Details:
An assessment of the business was conducted, and it recommended that Mum To Be should apply for Asset Assist grant. The business was assisted to prepare and submit the application.
Outcome Details:
Mum To Be’s application was successful. The company has received funding to purchase equipment to the tune of R248 000. This grant has assisted the company to increase production and improve on current revenue from R1 250 000 to R1 570 400. Employment has increased from six (6) to ten (10) employees.
