Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
In late 2024, Sello attended an Inventory Management Training aimed at helping small and informal businesses improve their operational efficiency. The training focused on:
Understanding stock turnover and customer demand
Categorising fast- and slow-moving items
Managing stock levels using simple tracking systems
Reducing waste, shrinkage, and overstocking
Making informed purchasing decisions based on data

Outcome Details:
Before the training, Rise N Shine General Dealer often ran out of high-demand products, while slow-moving stock gathered dust on the shelves. This led to missed sales and tied-up cash flow.
After the training, Sello applied the new knowledge immediately. He began keeping daily records of sales, introduced a simple stock check routine, and started restocking based on actual customer buying patterns rather than guesswork.
As a result of these changes:
Stock availability improved, with key items always in stock
Cash flow stabilised, as unnecessary spending on slow stock was reduced
Customer satisfaction increased, bringing in more repeat business
Most notably, turnover grew by 57.92% within six months
