These business endeavours sparked Miss. Shongwe’s desire to create jobs in his area and that’s when he decided to establish his own manufacturing entity specialising in household and industrial detergents, producing affordable products such as sanitisers, bleach, disinfectants, all-purpose cleaners, dishwashing liquid and washing powder and pine gel amongst others.
Challenges/Needs:
In 2023, Client approached Seda Thabo Mofutsanyana Branch seeking business development support services in order to grow and increase sales. The business advisor performed a diagnostic analysis using the Critical Planning Exercise tool (CPE) to determine the business shortcomings and possible remedial interventions to support the business growth. The assessment report revealed the following challenges that needed urgent attention:
• Packaging & labelling
• Access to funding to purchase required equipment for a new production line and improve current business operations.
• The outdated equipment (tablets) resulted in regular breakdowns placing the business at risk of losing clients and income.

• The turnover of the business increased by approximately 59% from R224 851 in the 2023/24 financial year to R in the R567 851 2024/25 financial year.
• Employment has grown by 57% from three (2023/24) to seven (2024/2025) staff members.
