Challenges/Needs: MSECH experienced the following challenges: 1. Mentoring and Coaching: The owners and employees require ongoing mentoring and coaching capacitation to further grow the business 2. Access to Funding: Although the company has recorded significant increases in sales, operational challenges were hampering the growth potential of the company. This includes operating from rented premises which cost almost 20k every month, but doesn’t have sufficient space for the expansion of the operations. MSECH also needs to purchase a mobile clinic and bakkie to conduct offsite visits to clients. Lastly, the business also requires essential and advanced medical equipment to improve their service offering. 3. Marketing and Linkage to Markets: The visibility of the business is very important, especially an online presence. The client requires assistance with access to local markets/ Market Linkage to improve their business position.

Intervention Insights and Results

Intervention Details: • Mentorship: MSECH was assisted with the Productivity SA Competitiveness Improvement Services (CIS) Mentorship. The objective of the programme was using mentorship to enhance the productivity and competitiveness of the business, enabling them to thrive in local and global markets, thereby promoting economic growth, investment, and employment.
• Access to Funding: MSECH was assisted with the facilitation of access to finance the through the SEDFA Asset Assist Programme. They received grant funding to the tune of R230,776.00, to procure the following:
 Vision Screener
 Audiometry
 Spirometry
Outcome Details: As a result of the funding and post investment intervention, MSECH has grown in leaps and bounds.
MSECH experienced growth in terms of turnover and employment. The increase in turnover between Feb 2024 and Feb 2025 was 108%, which increased from R1 053 882 to R2 189 196. Additionally, the employment increased from 8 to 11 employees.
