Business Dynamics and Challenges

Business Activities: Recycling and Waste Management
Challenges/Needs: The business faced several challenges that made it difficult to grow and operate smoothly. One of the main challenges was a lack with start-up funding and access to proper recycling equipment which delayed full operations until 2022. Another challenge was the lack of business skills, especially in financial management, business planning, administration and marketing. The owner did not have much experience in these areas, which made it hard to manage the business properly and attract customers. Poor understanding of procurement and tender processes was also a challenge which made it difficult for the business to apply for government or private sector contracts. Lastly, the business did not have enough equipment for both office administration and operations, daily operations became slow and sometimes unprofessional as a result.
