Challenges/Needs:
The client visited SEDA with an aim of getting assistance with accessing financial support for the purpose of purchasing equipment and expanding the business. An assessment was conducted, and a few challenges were identified. The current equipment and tools are aging and causes occasional breakdowns to operations.
Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
Seda’s diagnostic assessment revealed that there is a need to assist by facilitating access to finance. The owner was assisted to complete and submit application forms for TREP. Compliance issues were addressed for this application. The owner was taken through training on Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point and was supported with a Point-of-Sale Device (POS) to support operations. The business was further assisted to submit an application for the Asset Assist Programme.
Outcome Details:
The business received funding through the TREP programme to the value of R592 542,34. They used those funds to purchase a delivery vehicle and several butchery equipment. They were further granted R249 905.20 through Asset Assist Programme and purchased Building steel structures, Crusher Stones, Cement, and Paving Bricks. These funding was used to extend the building and improve the outlook of the venue. The company sustained their employees and increased revenue from R92 058.00 to R795 700.00
