Sedfa supported the businesses to access the Informal Micro Enterprises Development Programme (IMEDP) support fund. The IMEDP focuses on empowering informal traders by providing the necessary skills, equipment, and machinery. The client received sewing machines worth R9000.
Outcome Details:
• Turnover Increase: The turnover increased from R118 181 to R141 817.20 a remarkable change of R23 636.20 which is attributable to the purchase of additional equipment.
• Employment Increase: The business expanded its team from 1 to 4 employees, adding 3 new positions.
• Expenses Increase: Total expenses rose from R117 345.37 to R139 170.8 due to business having had to hire additional staff to manage stock orders and sewing operations, as the director had to close the business during order placements, resulting in lost sales.
• Net Profit Increase: Net profit grew from R835. 63 to R2646.4 which is an increase of R1 810.77.
