Intervention Insights and Results

Intervention Details: The client was registered on the program SAPLATO that ran for 12 months. He had an opportunity to learn management skills. He could also interact with other participating entrepreneurs, experienced mentors as well as representatives from large businesses. He managed to develop his own strategic as well as operational business plan.



Seda provided the following additional support services to the client:
• Development of a Business Plan (Client developed own business plan with Seda support and guidance).
• Development of Promotional and Marketing Material.
• Re-branding of the business.
In May 2022 Mochobo Executive Guards was recommended for exhibition during the Minister of Small Business Development Road show in Klerksdorp. The client was identified as the key motivator during the gala dinner as the most successful enterprise that was supported by Seda.
Outcome Details: • The business turnover increased by 100%.
• The business established a unique brand and became more visible. The business provides security services for the international cricket matches played in Potchefstroom.
• 29 jobs sustainable and descent jobs have been created.
• The business purchased a new business vehicle.
• The Managing Member (Mr Diphaphang Mochobo), was the first provincial runner up in the Seda Business Plan Competition and won a business development voucher of R50, 000, a laptop as well as R10, 000 cash. The voucher was used for rebranding and more signage and promotional materials were purchased. This resulted in the improvement in the visibility and image of the business.
• 5 Additional Branches were opened at Krugersdorp, Vereeniging and Welkom.
• Additional jobs were created.
• 11 additional clients were acquired.
• 14 Firearm Licenses were acquired.
• 5 additional vehicles were purchased.
• The turnover increased by 100%.
• The profit improved by 100%.
The business was supported to participate in the following exhibitions during the 2023/24 financial year:
 Minister’s Road Show and participation as panellists at the Minister’s Gala Dinner.
 Brics Road Show.
 Pop-Up Market.
The following new improvements were achieved as a result of the above interventions:
Additional Branch was opened at Klerksdorp.
More additional jobs were created.
12 months aviation security contract was acquired (Pilanesberg).
36 months security and investigation contract acquired (North West Gambling Board).
12 months industrial security (Ngwathe Power Plant).
Month to Month Industrial Security acquired (JB Marks Water Purification Plant).
36 months security contract acquired (GP Dept of Health).
