As the owner was new in business, Ms Hendricks lacked the necessary skills to operate a successful business. The client needed capacitation in Basic Business Skills and Financial Management training, including the Business Model Canvas.

Intervention Details:
The client approached Sedfa in January 2024 for business development support. An assessment was conducted to assess the needs of the business. The outcome highlighted that the client needed training in Basic Business Skills, Business Model Canvas and Financial Management. Ms Hendricks attended the proposed capacity building intervention.
After this intervention, a Gap Analysis was conducted and the results indicated that Wendy’s Laundry needed market infiltration to enable it to grow. Therefore, an intervention for the development of promotional material was proposed to assist the business to overcome this hurdle.

Outcome Details:
The promotional material intervention was implemented and through vigorous marketing to create brand awareness, the business started to record an increase in clientele including sales thus leading to business growth. In addition, the business managed to increase its turnover from R 0.00 in January 2024 to R 30 570.00 in November 2024. Wendy’s Laundry also managed to create two (2) more jobs thus bringing the total number of employees to four (4).
