Rubyfrost carwash and Chisanyama (Pty) Ltd is a 100% black and female owned car wash and fast-food outlet business, founded by Mrs Leah Masemene, entrepreneur and businesswoman. The business is located at the heart of Mojuteng section, a township informal settlement in Northam, Limpopo province.
Main product and services are detailing, interior and exterior car wash with side kitchen selling Kota’s, chips, and car wash services as a supplementary service. Currently the business has seven workers, two car washers, two kitchen chefs, two cashiers and a supervisor, all of them are full time workers.
Ms Leah Masemene is an experienced businesswoman with entrepreneurial flair and business skill to run her business successfully. Rubyfrost car wash and Chisanyama (Pty) Ltd is using state of the art car wash equipment to prepare and wash the vehicles inside and out with innovative washing solutions and products.
Challenges/Needs:
When the client was referred from SIOC to Seda, she needed business development services that could not be offered from SIOC. Through Seda’s assessment of the business, the following development aspects were identified:-
• Inadequate understanding of business including financial management.
• Lacking signage and other marketing materials, which made it difficult to attract the target market.
Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
To address lack of business skills, the client was enrolled in a Basic Business Skills/ Financial Management training.
• In order to increase the company's professional image and improve access to the target market, signage and other marketing materials were also used to brand the enterprise.

Outcome Details:
• Basic Business Skills Training improved the knowledge of the entrepreneur and confidence to secure more business from the local communities.
• Annual turnover increased from R365 000 to R585 000, a 60% increase
• The business has since created 2 more jobs.
