The business makes bread, buns, pies, scones, muffins, birthday, and wedding cakes which are sold to local tuckshops at Mcitsheni, Ezakheni and at Umhlumayo.
Challenges/Needs:
The bakery’s main challenge was that it was poorly marketed, the bakery is located on Nkentshana RD at Mcitsheni which is a rural area, it is one of the busiest roads which connects Mcitsheni and Ezakheni. However, the activities of the bakery were unknown to potential customers driving/walking on this road. Also, the business was selling products (bread, buns and cakes) at tuck-shops using clear unbranded plastic bags.

• The foot and vehicle traffic to the bakery increased hence the business had to double the amount of bread, cakes and buns produced daily.
• The bakery acquired two more agreements to supply local tuckshops with 80lt of cakes and buns daily.
• The turnover of the business increased by 40% from R105 205 to R244 752, and net profit increased by 18% from the previous year.
