Cancure Oils (Pty) Ltd, trading as Cancure Oils, is a hundred percent black-owned business established in 2016 and registered as a private company in 2023. Mr Sheobalak started the enterprise after he had spent several years researching the medical benefits of hemp. He started greenhouse hemp planting on a small scale (ca. two square metres under cover), operating from his house garage. From humble beginnings, the entrepreneur could produce cannabis oil on a smaller scale of a high standard and started selling to customers with amazing positive results in KwaZulu-Natal.
The business specializes in the cultivation of hemp, the extraction of cannabis oils, and the production of a variety of cannabis-based oil medicinal and cosmetic products. The target market broadly comprises the recreational market, medical market, pharmacies, distributors, industrial Sector etc.
Challenges/Needs:
When the owner first approached Seda the business had challenges of penetrating the market as it was still new in this highly competitive market. The growth of the business was stagnant and the sales were very low. The owner needed assistance to be able to market the business adequately.

Seda conducted a Gap Analysis Assessment on the business to identify appropriate interventions to make Cancure gain visibility and effectively market its products. After completing these assessments, Seda decided to assist with the following interventions:

Outcome Details:
As a result of Seda's intervention, Cancure has increased its client base amid a challenging economic environment. As a result of Seda’s support and interventions, the business has become more visible to its target market, thus attracting and broadening its clientele. The company achieved the following improvements:
● Turnover per month increased by 25% from R30, 000.00 to R37, 500.00 (Improvement Assessment Period), a significant turnaround considering the highly competitive nature of this sector.
● The company increased employment from one (01) person to four (04) people employed.
● Over the last year, Cancure has received invitations from various industry players to exhibit at several local and international trade conferences. The business has also partnered with the Department of Agriculture whereby Cancure provides technical training to emerging farmers. Cancure is being recognized as an expert in the cannabis industry, especially in KwaZulu Natal province
