Analit Africa was founded by Lungisa Lutshaba. He hails from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape, wanting to challenge his status quo. He believes that his products can offer something better than that of his competitors. The Analit Africa brands includes: Sunpheka Foods (Sunpheka Rice, Sunpheka Evo, Sunpheka Flex Range, Mastrorocco Spread, Delicioso, YummyMummy Noodles, Sunpheks Brilliant, SunBites Bizkits) and Ticklecare Organics (Ticklecare Rachet & Rugged Tissue Oils, Ticklecare Organics Glycerine Soaps, Ticklecare STUD & STUDESS Range, Bold Body, available in wash, lotion, tissue oils, soaps, petroleum jelly and an organic aqueous cream range, Ticklish Baby, Ticklecare Men, Vivid & Gorgeous Range for women). Their brands are 98% locally formulated and derived from natural ingredients.
New age manufacturing and product development technology are used in the company, that is inspired by a South African heritage, culture, ideas and sustainable living. The owner believes that the business is at the forefront of the FMCG industry, and they possess the know-how, discipline and innovation to continuously improve their track record.
The owner has over 13 years’ experience in manufacturing, hospitality and product development industries, with over 7 years of experience in calibration with Food Bev Seta. He is involved in the business on a full-time basis and currently provides employment to 12 other people.
Challenges/Needs:
The business required assistance with the implementation of a Food Safety System as it became a requirement from their clientele.
They required assistance with access to international markets and to export.
Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
The business owner approached Seda and was assisted by Lizle Schultz, Business Advisor in the Nelson Mandela Bay Branch. After conducting an assessment, the Business Advisor was able to identify the gaps and recommended interventions to address the gaps. The business was assisted with the implementation of a FSSC Quality Management System (QMS) and Halal certification. The owner was also assisted to attend the Intra-African Trade Fair in Cairo (Eqypt) in November 2023 and the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York (USA) in June 2024.
Outcome Details:
The staff increased by 18%, from 11 (including owner) to 13 employees in total.
