Business Dynamics and Challenges
Business Activities:
THREE SISTERS BEAUTY PARLOUR was formed in 2015 and formally registered in 2018 by Mrs. Lydia Malenka Mohlabai. Initially, the business offered only nail and eyelash services. Lydia, passionate about beauty, saw a gap in the market as most ladies had to travel to nearby towns for salon services. After registering the business, she equipped herself with more knowledge to perform her services properly and professionally. She then diversified her business to include hair salon services, partnering with others to create a one-stop shop. Equipment support played a crucial role in the business’s growth, allowing them to rent a dedicated workspace after starting operations from her parents’ kitchen. As the business grew, Lydia heard about SEDA and applied for equipment support and financial management training.

Outcome Details:
Through the implementation of SEDA’s intervention, the business has been able to attract more customers and increase its income. The income has risen from R96,000 to R132,000 per annum.
Client Feedback
Client Comments:
“We require assistance with advertisement, as we don’t have a signage board yet where people can see our offerings and trading times. We wish SEDA can help with a payment card machine to provide an alternative solution for clients who don’t carry cash. We would also like SEDA to assist us with a business plan to apply for financial assistance.”
