THE CHALLENGES.
• Quality Management System:
Much of the business revenue is generated from tendering
contracts mainly from private corporate mining companies and
power generating plants located across Nkangala District. The
immense significance of a Quality Management System among
the business target market has increased and became a
requirement to conduct business with them.
At the time when the client was client was assessed, the
business did not have any Quality Management System in place
placing the business in a disadvantageous position to
successfully access tendering contracts.

Intervention Details:
Following client visit to the branch seeking assistance with Development & Implementation of Quality Management Systems, an appointment with the client was made to conduct diagnostic assessment on the business. Upon the assessment of the business, the following business challenges were then identified:
ISO 9001 of 2015 – to help business improve its ability to
consistently provide products and services that meet its target
clients.
ISO 45001 of 2018 – to help business reduce hazardous
environments in the workplace and therefore improve employee
satisfaction.

OUTCOME/ RESULTS
How has Seda’s Intervention benefited the client?
• Following the SEDA’s intervention support with development and
Implementation of QMS, the business turnover increased from
R12 336 449,00 (as at the previous Improvement Assessment
date) to R13 841 688,00 (as at the current Improvement
Assessment date).
• The business was also able to sustain 135 jobs compared to the
137 jobs as at the previous Improvement Assessment date.
