Business Activities:
• Animeds (Pty) Ltd is a 100% black owned company based at Shop no 4 Seku Building, No 3 Nolangeni Street in Mount Ayliff. The business was founded by Ms Zimasa Qwayede who is passionate, dedicated, organised methodical individual who has a strong affection for animals, their health and wellbeing.
• The company specialises in artificial insemination, meat inspection, primary animal and healthcare services, she also trains other immerging farmers on how to take are of animals.
Challenges/Needs:
• The challenge that was experienced by the business was that she trained people without having proper accreditation even though she had obtained her Diploma in animal health. The business owner has since approached Seda for assistance with Facilitator, Assessor and Moderator towards her being accredited.
• In order to improve sales within the business, there has to be increased effort to ensure that she is able to issue students with certificates after training. Seda assisted the business with intervention of facilitator, assessor and moderator via ETDP-SETA. Previously she was assisted with signage and branding to advertise her business.
Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
• The client was referred to a business advisor who after business consultations, registered the client and conducted the diagnostic assessments on the business to ascertain the business needs. The assessment revealed that the business was very sensitive to sales and that it also required aggressive marketing.
Outcome Details:
• The performance of the business improved in that the turnover increased by 234% from R36 884 to R123 096 as a result of the interventions they were assisted with by Seda.
• Employment has remained the same at 3 employees as a result of the intervention received.
