Business Activities:
Out of Africa PPE Suppliers is a small company established by, Mr Alfred Malebe who is currently the only shareholder. It was registered in 2016 as a private company and it is engaged in the manufacturing of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as workwear, boots, gloves etc. The company further buy and sell cleaning detergents such as sanitizer, pine gel, all-purpose cleaner etc.
Currently the company is operating from Polokwane, at 58 Rentmeester building, a lease agreement is in place.
Challenges/Needs:
The main challenges as mentioned by the client at his first visit was low morale of employees, poor quality of products, the company was experiencing returns and reworks more frequently.
Intervention Insights and Results
Intervention Details:
The client first visited Seda office in June 2022 when client registration was done, baseline information about the company was collected and a Critical Planning Exercise (CPE) assessment tool was used to assess the company.
The client was assisted with Quality Management System (QMS ISO:9001), it was further referred to Productivity SA and was put on a productivity improvement programme which is still running, but improvements are already visible. Both management and employees are being trained on this programme.

Outcome Details:
The impact of the above-mentioned intervention was realized as below:
- Quality has improved with low returns and reworks, production processes and responsibilities are now well defined and understood by employees, wastage has been reduced.
- Revenue increased from by 18,322 %, R8 014 284 to R9 482 699
- The company has retained its 10 jobs and create 4 new once i.e., 40 % increase.
