When Free State Graduates first approached Seda, they were confronted with several hurdles common to small-scale enterprises. Operating without adequate resources, they lacked essential training in food safety protocols, which posed risks to their operations and customer satisfaction. Moreover, their limited visibility made it difficult to penetrate the local market and attract clientele. Additionally, the absence of proper infrastructure hindered their operational efficiency and credibility.

Intervention Details:
SBAT was conducted and based on the challenges stated above, Seda assisted with the following:
• Business skills Training – training was provided through our referral to NYDA.
• Technical training – Tyre fitment training
• Marketing- A service provider was appointed to do marketing for the business.
• Access to finance – Facilitation of access to funding
• Ongoing Mentorship and coaching

Outcome Details:
Through Seda's intervention, Free State Graduates underwent a transformative journey, resulting in significant outcomes and successes. With comprehensive food safety training, basic business skills, and the development of effective signage and marketing materials, they overcame initial hurdles. Securing vital infrastructure, including a mobile unit funded by the NYDA with R50,000, empowered them to expand their reach and operations, establishing a solid presence in the culinary industry. Ongoing youth mentorship further guided them on compliance and business growth strategies. These efforts yielded tangible results, with a remarkable increase of over 5% in turnover. Moreover, three new jobs were created and four were sustained. Through determination, support, and strategic partnerships, Free State Graduates flourished, illustrating the transformative power of collaborative initiatives in fostering entrepreneurship and sustainable business development.
