Business Dynamics and Challenges
Business Activities:
Wheels and Co (Pty) Ltd is a privately owned and registered entity. The company is owned by two individuals namely, Mr Oarabile Maje and his partner Mr. Karabo Mangoegape. Both owners are registered directors of the company, which was incorporated with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) on the 20th of May 2020. The owners decided to partner together and initiate a tyre and auto parts retailer in Taung Central Business District. The idea was to position a warehouse kind of a store next to the main access road leading into the CBD. According to the owners they carried out market research and realized that most stores are located within town, leaving out a large market of passing motorists as potential customers. To kickstart operations, the owners approached a local businessman who has a building in Veertien village where they reside. The building belongs to Tikologo Supermarket, which has been closed for some years.
Challenges/Needs:
The client visited SEDA with an aim of getting assistance with accessing financial support for the purpose of purchasing equipment and machinery. A Gap Analysis assessment was conducted, and a few challenges were identified. The current equipment and tools are mostly domestic and might break down with continuous usage. The operating space is too small due to lack of capital funds to erect an appropriate structure.
